Rosebuds

We are looking for young ladies, age 5-12, of Irish heritage that would like to represent the Chicago Rose of Tralee as a Chicago Rosebud.  Rosebuds serve as an Honor Guard of sorts for the Rose Candidates. They lead the candidates onto stage for their on-stage interviews and make a presentation to the candidates. They also serve a vital role by enabling the judges to observe how well each candidate relates to young children, as the biggest Rose of Tralee fans in Ireland are the young children.

Click here for Rosebud Application.  Please fill this out completely and mail to the address listed.  Please hurry, as there are only 40 spots available.

The Chicago Rose of Tralee selection night will be held on Friday,  March 11, 2010 during the Irish American Heritage Center Festival weekend in Chicago.  The selection will take place in the elegant Erin Ballroom and the Rosebuds will participate in the entire weekend festival that will include bands, vendors, parades and more.  The staged event will be held Friday and the winner of the Chicago Rose of Tralee will be announced on Saturday evening.

The Rosebuds are asked to wear a pastel party dress.
