Rosebuds
We are looking for young ladies, age 5-12, of Irish heritage that would like to represent the Midwest Rose of Tralee as a Midwest Rosebud. Rosebuds serve as an Honor Guard of sorts for the Rose Candidates. They lead the candidates onto stage for their on-stage interviews and make a presentation to the candidates. They also serve a vital role by enabling the judges to observe how well each candidate relates to young children, as the biggest Rose of Tralee fans in Ireland are the young children.
The Midwest Rose of Tralee selection night will be held on Friday, March 12, 2010 during the Southside Irish Festival weekend in Chicago. The selection will take place at the Beverly Art Center Theater and the Rose Petals will participate in the entire weekend festival that will include bands, vendors and more. The staged event will be held Friday and the winner of the Midwest Rose of Tralee will be announced on Saturday evening.
The Rosebuds are asked to wear a pastel party dress.
